This song has been possible the most profound in my life. It has become the catalyst of my healing. It was playing the night I was sexually assaulted. This event was one of many but I use to feel so much pain when I heard this song. I was the one who was lost and insecure. Before that happened to me, I never listened to the lyrics really so they became to mean different things for me over time. “You say that you want respect Well then you better get some for yourself” I finally did that. And he needs to get some respect for himself. He’s too spineless. He wanted what he could never have. Thank you senses fail. This is truly a masterpiece.

It was 2005. My mom just dropped me off at school for my sophmore year in high scool. My neighborhood friend Marcos handed me a copy of the first two senses fail albums on one cd. He told me it was the best band hed heard in a long time. He wasnt wrong. God those were simpler times.
